WebDuck Designs offers many ecommerce solutions for businesses wishing to sell online. There are many ecommerce solutions available, the most common ecommerce solutions being premade shopping carts like OSCommerce and ZenCart.
While WebDuck Designs has lots of experienceworking with open source & premade shopping carts, we typically don’t recommend them. With premade shopping carts you can only work within what is there which can put unnecessary limitations on a website. Open source shopping carts were created by a lot of different developers which means that there are a lot of people that can possibly hack into OSCommerce and other open source stores. That being said, premade shopping carts may be perfect for some online stores. The one advantage to open source carts and premade shopping carts is that if you are running a simple online store and don’t require a lot of customization premade carts might be a cheaper ecommerce solution. However, if you are like many online stores you are looking for some customization to get a store that will look and do exactly what you want.
Some customization can be done to premade shopping carts, but you are still stuck with some limitations and hiring someone to customize a premade store for you might cost more than getting a custom ecommerce solution. How much does our custom ecommerce solution cost? After reading over all of Shopping Ducks’ benefits you might expect to pay $30,000 or more. WebDuck Designs understands that not a lot of businesses can pay out that much money for an online store which is why we just charge clients a low rental fee for using the store. All you need to get started with our custom online store is a small setup fee usually between $1,500 - $3,000. Once your store is up and running you will only have to pay a low monthly rental payment usually between $200-$400 a month which includes: hosting on a dedicated server, a dedicated IP address and an SSL Certificate. If you choose to rent our custom online store instead of buying it outright (which can cost in excess of $30,000) then you will not own the store code but are renting the right to use it, thus costing you less money upfront.
